Council Grove, one of the
most historical towns in Kansas, was a favorite spot to gather
on the Santa Fe Trail. For many years Council Grove was
the furthest west point to which small wagon trains and individual
travelers could safely travel. Council Grove became the pre-eminent
rendezvous point for wagon trains to band together before heading
west.
